For over sixty years we have been helping thousands of people to enjoy this different kind of holiday, a homestay with a private family, which can take place at any time of the year where you have total immersion in the language and can stay for anything from one week to one year. Opportunities exist to attend small private schools too - this is best for older students. Our language travellers range in age from twelve to ninety - proving that age is no barrier to learning!

Life in another country is very different but always fascinating. Not only do you find out about "them", you also find out about yourself. The give and take and excitement of a new situation is challenging, whatever your age, but it is also very fulfilling.

For school groups we have a number of locations in France, Spain, Germany and Italy. These groups can be from as few as two pupils to forty or fifty and can be arranged to include tuition and outings.

An En Famille Overseas language homestay is an individually tailored stay in the home of a good private family. Its huge advantage is the excellence of our loyal families. You have the chance to get to know a foreign country and its people, to make friends, to speak the language and to sample home cooking and family life. There are many cultural differences to be discovered, and we can provide you with guidance and advice beforehand to help you get the most out of the visit. In France you can stay with or without lessons, in Spain, Germany and Italy it is usually - but not always - with lessons.

Accommodation is arranged for you "en famille" in such a way that you live the normal family life. Even though you are a paying guest, you are one of the family. Each person's needs are taken into account by the host families, be it a particular diet, allergy, health problem - whatever. You can go on excursions, shopping trips and join in with any entertainment and meetings with friends and family. It is an ideal way to gain an insight into the way of life of the country and to have conversational practice: indeed, may travellers feel this is the only true way to know a country and its people, and to achieve confidence in the spoken language. For students of all ages wishing to practise the language prior to examinations, the opportunity is unrivalled.
